Texts and ideas for creators: The Trivia Show
Make videos and streams
You’re free to stream, record and monetize The Trivia Show on any platform, without asking us first. Our logo, key art, screenshots and the mascot can go in your thumbnails and overlays too. A link to the game is always appreciated, never required.
Music
The game’s music is ours, and you can keep it on in streams and videos. If a platform ever flags it, write to us at contact@minteeble.com and we’ll sort it out.
Ask for a key
Write to contact@minteeble.com with the subject “Key request: The Trivia Show”. A few things that help us answer quickly:
- a link to your channel, or to the outlet you write for;
- the platform and the language you make content in;
- how many people you’d like to play with, so we can send keys for your friends too.
Texts you can use as they are, change however you like, or just read for a spark. Nothing here is a rule. The Steam link and the facts are already in.
The game in one line
You and your friends, up to 8 players, are trapped in a TV show: every room opens with a question, and whoever gets it wrong pays.

Voiceover scripts, about 55 seconds
- The bomb on your ankle. You and your friends are on a TV quiz show. Except each of you has a bomb strapped to your ankle. The problem? Every wrong answer charges it, and the longer the show goes on, the fewer mistakes it takes to fill it. When your bomb is full it goes live, and the only sensible thing to do is get away from everyone. Too bad your friends have no intention of leaving you alone: while you’re still answering, a kindergarten chair hits you, and while you’re getting back up, the friend with the full bomb is running straight at you. You answered right? Good for you. But if you’re close when it goes off, you take the hit too. And the host, from the speakers, doesn’t even pretend to be sorry: “You were right! Still exploded.” And that’s just one room: the others have exploding platforms, gnomes with axes and a table of revolvers. It’s called The Trivia Show, up to 8 players online, out on Steam on 30 October.
- Getting knocked out is the best part. In this game, getting knocked out is the best part. Here’s how it works: you and your friends are trapped in a TV show, every room opens with a question, and whoever gets it wrong pays. A platform that blows up under your feet, a bomb on your ankle, water rising in your tank. Sooner or later it’s your turn. And it’s not what you’d expect: you come back as a ghost, with your own face, and you can still talk to everyone. But above all, in most rooms you get an RC car. You throw it, you drive it, you jump, you drift, you flip it in the air. And then you blow it up right next to the friend who took you out. He can try to shoot it down, if he sees it coming. In the next corridor everyone’s back on their feet, and it starts all over again. It’s called The Trivia Show, up to 8 players online, on Steam from 30 October.
- The gnomes only chase the wrong. Imagine a quiz where a wrong answer costs you more than points. You and your friends are in an old abandoned house, the question pops up and you’ve got a few seconds to answer. Get it right and you get ammo. Get it wrong and you get gnomes. Garden gnomes, with axes, hunting only the people who got it wrong. And the more you get wrong, the more of them show up. So the one who knows everything just stands there shooting, and the one who can’t get a single answer right runs in circles with half a garden behind him. And when at least half the group gets it wrong? Here comes the giant gnome. The best part is you can’t even shoot your friends: you can only watch them run. And the longer the show goes on, the stronger and faster the gnomes get. It’s called The Trivia Show, up to 8 players online, out on Steam on 30 October.
- Six chambers, one round. A table, a few revolvers and one question. You and your friends sit around the table, read the question on the little monitor in front of you and answer. Once, no second thoughts. Get it wrong and your chair gives you a shock. Get it right, faster than the others, and you grab a gun from the table. Every revolver has six chambers and one live round. And here’s the fun part: every empty click makes the next one more dangerous. Whoever holds a gun aims at a rival and pulls, and all you can do is duck, once per turn, and hope. Oh, and every now and then the gun bursts in the hand of whoever’s holding it. At first there’s only one revolver on the table, but the longer the show goes on, the more show up. The last one still sitting wins. It’s called The Trivia Show, up to 8 players online, on Steam from 30 October.
- A quiz about us. We made a quiz about ourselves. Yes, about our community: the inside jokes, the legendary moments, the embarrassing ones. And we played it inside a game where being wrong costs you. Here’s how: in the game’s Quiz Editor you write your questions, multiple choice or true or false, even with pictures. You publish it on the Steam Workshop, and when you host the match you pick it: the others don’t need to download anything. Then you play as usual. You and your friends trapped in a TV show, one question per room, and whoever gets it wrong pays for it: the platform blows up, the ankle bomb charges, the gnomes with axes come for you. Lesson learned: we thought we knew our community. We didn’t. It’s called The Trivia Show, up to 8 players online, out on Steam on 30 October.

Ideas to start from
- A normal thing with an absurd rule. A quiz show is something everyone knows. The bomb on your ankle, the gnomes that only chase the wrong, the gun that goes to the fastest right answer: that twist tends to be what makes people stop.
- What one answer changes. A right answer can mean the better gun, ammo for the gnome attack or first pick of the revolvers. A wrong one can blow up your platform, charge your ankle bomb, flood your team’s tank, send the gnomes after you or give you a shock through your chair.
- Your friends as the real danger. Chairs thrown while someone is still answering, toy mines that creep up on you, grenades with the show’s logo on them. Everyone sees the answers in a different order, so lying about the right one is an option.
- The host. A voice from the speakers comments on every disaster: “You were right! Still exploded.” “Your friend blew you up. Friends.” “Everyone’s here. Nobody’s leaving.”
- The start of every match. Everyone wakes up on a lawn in a hall with a painted sky, and a screen welcomes them to the show.
- Halloween. The game comes out on 30 October, and the wardrobe has a pumpkin mask.
Moments that happen a lot
- One wrong answer, and a whole platform full of players blows up.
- A chair flying at someone who is still answering.
- The last empty click before the live round, or a revolver bursting in someone’s hand.
- A ghost driving an RC car into the last survivors.
- Both tanks one level away from full, and one question left.
- The podium: the winner cheers, everyone else cries.

Ideas for recording
Ideas, not rules: take what helps.
- Shuffled answers are on by default, so everyone sees the answers in a different order. It’s the perfect excuse to lie to your friends about the right one.
- Short on time? A Short match lasts about 10 minutes of play; a Long one about an hour.
- Skip room introductions in Advanced settings if your group already knows the rules.
- Getting knocked out is good footage. As a ghost you fly around the room, so you can watch everyone else from above, and in most rooms you get an RC car to chase them with.
- Make your own quiz in the Quiz Editor, about your channel or your community, and play it on stream. Only the host needs it.
- Proximity voice chat means people only hear the players close to them: great for whispering, plotting and blaming.

From the press kit: the logo, the key art, the trailer as an MP4 (1920 x 1080) and its cover, a YouTube thumbnail (1280 x 720), the mascot on a transparent background and screenshots of the game. There’s also the mascot with an empty face: put your own face in the hood. It comes as a PNG and as a layered PSD with a “Your face here” layer.
